In line with the Women’s Month Celebration, the Sangguniang Panlungsod officially launched the City’s very first Women’s Council last Wednesday, March 24, 2021.
The event was duly attended by the Sangguniang Panlungsod members, namely: Hon. Maria Rosario Eufrosina “Chary” Nisce, Hon. Lucia Hon. Ramon Guio “Ram” Ortega, Hon. Ramon “Monetski” Ortega, Hon. Lucia Esperanza “Luzan” Valero; Our guest of honor and speaker, Former City Mayor Mary Jane Ortega; and all the representatives of various public and private sectors and organizations in the City of San Fernando.
Pursuant to City Ordinance 2019- 026, The wonderful event aims to assemble all the sectors in the City, be it private or public, to fully support the empowerment of all women who are living or sojourning in the City of San Fernando. The Women’s Council is established to create a venue for consolidation and coordination of all efforts of the women sector of the City towards the achievement of the City’s development agenda.
The Establishment of Women’s Council is a one step closer in achieving gender equality in our City, which is one of the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nation.
