The Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City of San Fernando La Union was recognized as a National Finalist in the 2023 Local Legislative Awards under Component Cities Category on December 5, 2023 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City Manila.

Present in the awarding ceremony were City Councilors Hon. Pablo Ortega, Hon. Lucia Esperanza Ortega-Valero, Hon. Edwin Yumul and Hon. Arnel Almazan.

The award was given in recognition of significant accomplishments in local legislation that contributed to desirable socio-economic and environment outcomes that benefited the community.

This is indeed a manifestation of service and determination of the Sanggunian to wholeheartedly serve the City of San Fernando as Center of SMART Legislation in Region 1 by 2025.
