CANCER ASSISTANCE NOW AVAILABLE FOR MARGINALIZED PATIENTS IN SAN FERNANDO

𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗔𝗩𝗔𝗜𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗭𝗘𝗗 𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗦𝗔𝗡 𝗙𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗢

In accordance with the newly approved ordinance, the City of San Fernando has established the Cancer Control Council to provide essential assistance to cancer patients, particularly those who are marginalized and disadvantaged.

The City Ordinance No. 2024-09, authored by 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗥. 𝗢𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗮 and 𝗰𝗼-𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗼𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀, aims to enhance cancer care and support services for the city’s most vulnerable sectors.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:

• A Cancer Control Council will be formed to guide the city’s cancer-related policies and programs, ensuring improved access to care and survivorship for cancer patients.

• An annual Cancer Assistance Fund of 𝗣𝗵𝗣 𝟱,𝟬𝟬𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 will be allocated, covering hospitalization costs, medication, and other related medical treatments.

• Eligible applicants must provide a 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 to avail of the assistance.

• The City Health Office will conduct cancer awareness campaigns to educate and inform citizens about prevention, treatment, and support services.
