July 10, 2024 – Nine (9) barangays, including Apaleng, Calabugao, Puspos, Pao Norte, Pao Sur, Bangbangolan, Baraoas, Bacsil, and Nagyubuyuban, attended the first session of the Barangay Coaching and Mentoring program.

This initiative, pursuant to the local government code and spearheaded by the Office of the City Vice Mayor in collaboration with the Sangguniang Panlungsod, aims to provide effective and efficient public services through SMART and inclusive legislation.

The capacity development sessions are designed to empower barangay officials with comprehensive knowledge of their roles and responsibilities, ensuring continuous effective governance in the City of San Fernando.

To further support the barangays, representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), City Budget Office (CBO), Accounting Office (ACA) and City Treasury Office (CTO) were invited to provide advice and address specific issues raised by each barangay.
