In the regular session on July 27, 2021, which was presided over by City Vice Mayor Alfredo Pablo “Alf” Ortega, the Sanggunian unanimously elected Councilor Aquino as Chairman of the Committee on Health, which was previously chaired by her brother, the late Councilor Dr. Jesse Miranda.  Councilor Aquino was also chosen to be the Vice Chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means and to be a member of other committees of which Dr. Jesse Miranda was a member.
